1. How did you first become acquainted with the Church of Scientology?
I had just quit doing drugs and a friend suggested I try it. I would have been willing to try anything at the time.

2. What initially appealed to you about scientology?
It gave me something to do as I had no life. The ideals presented seemed great.. a world without war and insanity.

3. Were there problems in your life that you thought scientology would address?
I needed a purpose and Sci filled the bill

4. Did you see, experience, or hear about things that didn't seem right while you were in the Church of Scientology? What were they, and what convinced you to set aside your feelings?
First time for me was when I made my first trip to the SF org. The place was filthy and run down and practically empty compared to the bustling mission I came from.

5. Why did you choose to stay in the Church of Scientology?
I believed the lie: The auditor is the most valuable person on the planet'.

6. Were you staff or public? If staff, was it at a mission or an org? Were you ever in the Sea Org or OSA? Which unit? If not on staff, did you ever volunteer to 'help out'?
I was on Mission staff for a number of years in the Bay Area. I worked as an HGC Auditor until the price rises began to kill auditing hours. I tried being a Div 2 Reg, but I didn't have the 'killer instinct' for going for the bank account.

7. Why did you leave the Church of Scientology? Was there a "final straw"?
In 1983 the Mission Holder conference fiasco, followed by the financial police plundering the missions, my pay dropped by 90% and my family and I ended up living on the street. I was forced to go get a wog job.

8. Do you think the Church of Scientology needs to change some of its practices? If so, what should be changed? How did those practices affect your life?
1. Practice their own 'creed'.
2. Reveal the truth about LRH.
3. Jail the criminals that are running the scam.
4. Free all of the prisoners in the RPF
5. Stop all fair game and disconnection.

9. If the items you listed in the previous question were changed, would you consider rejoining or staying in the Church of Scientology? If so, why?
No thanks. I am happy with the Faith I have been led to since I left the cult.

10. Any additional comments you would like to make?
I was conned out of ten years of my life. When I finally ran out of having anything they needed, they dropped me like so much useless baggage. They lie when they say 'the greatest good for the greatest number'. If it doesn't benefit the them, they don't accept it, period.
