1. How did you first become acquainted with the Church of Scientology?
Personality test,

2. What initially appealed to you about scientology?
Interested in IQ and Personality testing. Also sounded interesting way to improve your life

3. Were there problems in your life that you thought scientology would address?
N/A

4. Did you see, experience, or hear about things that didn't seem right while you were in the Church of Scientology? What were they, and what convinced you to set aside your feelings?
Was on Staff in Auckland Org and sent to flag to do auditor training as an outer org trainee. While there did very little training, was basically used cheap labour (as most of OOT's were) to renovate and clean etc. The two things that really got to me were though the teaching of if you disagree with anything in scientology you must have a misunderstood word. This really crushes any free thought and any discent. Very effective method of controlling people.
My best friend growing up turned came out of the closet when he was 16. It did not change my feelings toward him when he told me at the time and I certainly was not going to change my feelings because the C of S said because he was a poof he was evil and I should have nothing to do with him. These people are bigots.

5. Why did you choose to stay in the Church of Scientology?
N/A

6. Were you staff or public? If staff, was it at a mission or an org? Were you ever in the Sea Org or OSA? Which unit? If not on staff, did you ever volunteer to 'help out'?
Staff, org

7. Why did you leave the Church of Scientology? Was there a "final straw"?
The final straw was catually building up over the SIX months I tried to leave Flag and was kept there through 'Ethics' or them holding my passport and return plane tickets ( I am Australian)

I finally wised up and realised that I could be out of there with in ten minutes with my passport, air tickets and a damn lift to the airport and spending money as well by telling them I was suicidal (which I was not). So that is what I did and what i described above including the spending money is exactly what happened. That5 is my tip to anyone who is being kept against there will in a c of s org. Tell em you are suicidal, you will be out of there in minutes.

8. Do you think the Church of Scientology needs to change some of its practices? If so, what should be changed? How did those practices affect your life?
N/A

9. If the items you listed in the previous question were changed, would you consider rejoining or staying in the Church of Scientology? If so, why?
N/A

10. Any additional comments you would like to make?
People should be very weary of Scientology.
