1. How did you first become acquainted with the Church of Scientology?
I had lunch in Pasadena across the street from the org. I bough DMSMH.

2. What initially appealed to you about scientology?
I read dianetics and related to it. I was an idealistic young 21 year old and wanted to help the planet

3. Were there problems in your life that you thought scientology would address?
Yes. I wanted to stop stuttering. I've stuttered all my life. At time, when I was a teenager, I prayed for death becasue of my stuttering.

4. Did you see, experience, or hear about things that didn't seem right while you were in the Church of Scientology? What were they, and what convinced you to set aside your feelings?
Yes. Being forced to write up success stories. Having to disconnect from my mom because she asked one too many questions (she later tried to kill herself because of the disconnect). Fair game policy.

5. Why did you choose to stay in the Church of Scientology?
So I could get help with my stuttering.

6. Were you staff or public? If staff, was it at a mission or an org? Were you ever in the Sea Org or OSA? Which unit? If not on staff, did you ever volunteer to 'help out'?
I was staff in Hawaii at the mission.

7. Why did you leave the Church of Scientology? Was there a "final straw"?
The final straw was the mission holders 'conference.' It seemed like the Nazi's had taken over. As the years went by, my sanity finally came back and I realized I had been conned big time. That's something you just hate to admit to yourself.

8. Do you think the Church of Scientology needs to change some of its practices? If so, what should be changed? How did those practices affect your life?
I think the Co$ should cease to exist. Really, this is militant, minding bending cult that absolutely offers nothing positive.

9. If the items you listed in the previous question were changed, would you consider rejoining or staying in the Church of Scientology? If so, why?
No way, no how.

10. Any additional comments you would like to make?
The anti-scientology web site have been of tremendous service to me.
