1. How did you first become acquainted with the Church of Scientology?
Relative introduced me

2. What initially appealed to you about scientology?
Intelligent people were involved.

3. Were there problems in your life that you thought scientology would address?
Drugs

4. Did you see, experience, or hear about things that didn't seem right while you were in the Church of Scientology? What were they, and what convinced you to set aside your feelings?
'The group is all and the individual is nothing'.
Injustices. Sea Org staff wiping out the little missions. People working for no money and then getting a bill when they left staff without any credit for all of the time and labor. Times changed from a 1960's cafe type of intellectual crowd to a group of young military kids. L. Ron Hubbard passed away and I felt no urge to pay homage to the new ruler. Mary Sue Hubbard was abandonded after going to federal prison in her duty to take on the U.S. Government. Sea Org members thrown out on the street with their kids and no money. There was a brutality that surfaced that hadn't been part of the original picture.

5. Why did you choose to stay in the Church of Scientology?
I spent less and less time there and just went in for a course or auditing and then left right away. I just started avoiding the rest as best I could.

6. Were you staff or public? If staff, was it at a mission or an org? Were you ever in the Sea Org or OSA? Which unit? If not on staff, did you ever volunteer to 'help out'?
public and staff early on.

7. Why did you leave the Church of Scientology? Was there a "final straw"?
One day I realized it was not the same place I originally entered. Things just change that way. That's life.

8. Do you think the Church of Scientology needs to change some of its practices? If so, what should be changed? How did those practices affect your life?
I think it would help them out considerably to stop terrorizing people that wish to still learn and practice and use what they paid for and gained there on their own now . But I don't think there is and policy on kindness.

9. If the items you listed in the previous question were changed, would you consider rejoining or staying in the Church of Scientology? If so, why?
No. The people in the Freezone approximate the group I more or less knew in the beginning. The crowd is highly intelligent and experienced and trained. People are taking initiative to learn Scientology and use it without the enforcement and these people are bright, they don't need the enforcment. I have been far more interested in Scientology since I've been in the Freezone. I could never go back into the Church. I don't have a problem at all with what they are doing there it's just not comfortable or interesting for me. There is a lot of other things going on there beyond reading and learning the ideas of L. Ron Hubbard. I am not interested in all the noise and abbracadabra.

10. Any additional comments you would like to make?
The Church of Scientology today is nothing like it was when L.Ron Hubbard was alive. The things there that upset people I noticed, had nothing to do with L.Ron Hubbards ways or ideas. It's a shame some people attribute these to L.Ron Hubbard. I suggest to anybody to put that news aside and pick up a book written by Mr. Hubbard and read what he had to say. You will hear a voice that does not match up in any way with the current people and their activities. If you want to learn more without the maddness, check into the Freezone for help or assistance.
