1. How did you first become acquainted with the Church of Scientology?
A friend.

2. What initially appealed to you about scientology?
Much of what I read and saw matched my reality at the time and aligned with what I already knew to be true.

3. Were there problems in your life that you thought scientology would address?
Not at all. I was looking for a career LOL! I had just left a 4 year marriage with a Heroin addict. I had a 3 year old son and all was fine actually. No worries and lots of plans.

4. Did you see, experience, or hear about things that didn't seem right while you were in the Church of Scientology? What were they, and what convinced you to set aside your feelings?
In 1975 or 6 I was doing Staff Statuses to join Portland Org. Mom sent me tickets for I and Shane to fly home to Alaska for Christmas. When I let the Portland org recruiter (My now dear friend Dan'el Locke) know when I'd be back he flipped a lid. He seriously went verbally violent and very nasty. I was pretty caved in for a bit. I then joined SO. I did not compare Dan'el to Scientology or look at it as a S incident. It was just him. My other experiences in the following 20 years at AOLA and then since would take a book I don't currently have time to write.

5. Why did you choose to stay in the Church of Scientology?
To many reasons to list quickly

6. Were you staff or public? If staff, was it at a mission or an org? Were you ever in the Sea Org or OSA? Which unit? If not on staff, did you ever volunteer to 'help out'?
Public at Portland Org May 1974 to mid 1977
SO at AOLA 1977-1996 with stints of 6 months at CEO and 2 RPF assignments.

7. Why did you leave the Church of Scientology? Was there a "final straw"?
It comes in layers:
1993 - Comm Ev released me from RPF and I never came out of Doubt (openly. The fact I never made it out of Doubt got forgotten about by all but me. What I stated is this exactly "I'm in Doubt but I don't want to be". I requested Hang-up at Doubt procedures but only finally got some 2005 ~ 12 years later.
1996 - Kicked off AOLA staff by Jenny D leaving husband and 2 children on SO posts and 2 to go out with me. Several petitions for LOA status disapproved.
2004 - Partner in property sexually abused my daughter #2 forcing me to sell. Chaplin no or little help. I wanted him to be ordered to sell his 1/2 to me at his cost. He was fined 15K and I had to put it on a family account.
2005 - Paid 100 hours of NOTs at AOLA where I worked 20 yrs and had to pay full rates. Got Sec checks and Not Clear R-factor
2007 - Some things happened and I abruptly liquidated my business and moved into my RV Van I had purchased in 2005? and moved away from Hollywood Yay!!!
2009 - A dear friend sent me Amy's book
2010 - Karen's Son died and I came out with my real name against the church.
2010 - My husband fatally shot himself in my presence and although the new wife of my X husband still on staff was the Volunteer Minister I/C WUS at least(maybe INT)no one came to help with the trauma
Since then I questioned LRH and the tech and for the most part am no longer a scientologist.

8. Do you think the Church of Scientology needs to change some of its practices? If so, what should be changed? How did those practices affect your life?
To much to say! They only effect my life because they are effecting the lives and happiness of those I love.

9. If the items you listed in the previous question were changed, would you consider rejoining or staying in the Church of Scientology? If so, why?
No. Why? exactly ...Why would I LOL :)

10. Any additional comments you would like to make?
Not right now. Thanks for asking.
