1. How did you first become acquainted with the Church of Scientology?
Refered to an intro lecture by an acquaintance at a party.

2. What initially appealed to you about scientology?
I was not happy with the religion I was born into and was looking. I had wins in Buddhism but could not find a means to progress further. A religion with Eastern concepts written by a
Western Engineer appealed to me greatly.

3. Were there problems in your life that you thought scientology would address?
Shyness, getting pushed around by people, discovering most people seemed to be shallow and what to do about it, i.e. how to find sincere, honest people.

4. Did you see, experience, or hear about things that didn't seem right while you were in the Church of Scientology? What were they, and what convinced you to set aside your feelings?
Poor living conditions, lack of hygiene due to lack of plumbing or poor plumbing. Contrary to what most people say, the food was great at CCLA in the early 70's. Sometimes, someone would be yelled and screamed at when they were not in the wrong.

5. Why did you choose to stay in the Church of Scientology?
I was wining there. The simple courses such as HAS and HQS handled my main problems and auditing expanded my level of knowingness and causation beyond my expectations. Also, I was given a means to help others which was one of my main goals.

6. Were you staff or public? If staff, was it at a mission or an org? Were you ever in the Sea Org or OSA? Which unit? If not on staff, did you ever volunteer to 'help out'?
Sea Org for 2 years, public the rest of the time

7. Why did you leave the Church of Scientology? Was there a "final straw"?

My Code of Honor was violated. After 2 very successfull years in the Sea Org, I was posted on a post I was not trained for and given no support. Shortly after, I was put on the EPF and I was not allowed to be reposted. I gave the Personel Officer an ultimatum to either repost me in HCO or let me return to CCLA to the post where I was doing very well, helping that org very much and and wining at it - or to route me out. She refused to repost me in HCO and said I could not return to CCLA so they routed me out. I am very proud that I stood up to them and had confidence in my personal value as an employee and in my sanity. I feel they are the ones that suffered by losing me as a staff member.

8. Do you think the Church of Scientology needs to change some of its practices? If so, what should be changed? How did those practices affect your life?
Yes,without a doubt. I feel there is too much emphasis on stats and in particular, stats which are connected to obtaining money.
Too many extremely able and well trained personnel have been declared suppressive and off loaded. I still have a comm line into the Orgs and recently, I have noticed an increase in ARC and sanity when dealing with several Org people. I hope this change is real and that it continues.

9. If the items you listed in the previous question were changed, would you consider rejoining or staying in the Church of Scientology? If so, why?
Yes, I would stay and get more active. However, a lot of things would have to change.

10. Any additional comments you would like to make?
I posted with you back in December of 2005. I have been thinking a lot about the Church of Scientology since then and I came up with one concept which I feel could be a summary of why there is so much hate and detestation of the Church by so many ex-members and ex-staff members as evidenced by the Internet. I call it 'Microcosm and Macrocosm'. The micro is the small picture where one staff member eats bad food or is yelled at when he did nothing wrong. The Macro is the large picture of Scientology expanding in the world, being accepted as mainstream and doing good.

Scientology has goals such a 'A world without crime where the able can rise to greater heights ...' Their goal is to clean up and de-aberate planet Earth and then expand the process beyond this planet.

I believe that it is logical that the big MACRO goals can best be achieved by each MICRO goal being handled so as to push in the same general direction of the MACRO goal. Let's say a staff member makes a minor administrative error or is disrespectful to his or her Senior. If they are yelled at in front of the Staff so as to degrade them or made to stuff envelopes all night and not get any sleep or things of that nature, I do not see this as contributing to the macro goals of Scientology. On the other hand if they are word cleared and sent to cramming, still treated with some degree of dignity, until the reason for the non optimum behavior is located and corrected or if it is established that there was no non optimum behavior then I think that this MICRO cycle contributes to the MACRO actions of the group.

If someone is truly a Suppressive Person and is actually out to destroy Scientology, then a Suppressive declare would forward the MACRO goals but this is the only instance where it would.
If someone sincerely disagrees with a management decision, that certainly does not automatically make him a Suppressive and if he is declared one when he isn't, then the MACRO goals are severly damaged.

To take a journey from pint A to Point B, all steps must lead closer to B. People can not be trampled on and degraded without cause and then their group still reache point B through huge stat pushes involving Heavy Force and Pressure where many of the people who participate are harmed or ruined financially or otherwise. Every handling must align and contribute to the MACRO goals.
