Recommended Website - http://xenu.net Congratulations to all the activists there helping out cult members/ex-members. You're the best!
1. How did you first become acquainted with the Church of Scientology?
Invitation (wasn't told it was Scientology)

2. What initially appealed to you about scientology?
Everyone acted so serenely and lovingly (love-bomb).

3. Were there problems in your life that you thought scientology would address?
Unhappiness

4. Did you see, experience, or hear about things that didn't seem right while you were in the Church of Scientology? What were they, and what convinced you to set aside your feelings?
staff getting next to no pay and being kicked to the curb, so to speak, if after years of service they transgressed in some way-no love, no compassion, no humanity....

5. Why did you choose to stay in the Church of Scientology?
I feared being declared. It is such a beautiful facet of Scientology that just about anyone has the opportunity to experience expulsion and humiliation coupled with disconnection from friends and FAMILY. One is never told that in the beginning. By the time you realize that all your money is gone.

6. Were you staff or public? If staff, was it at a mission or an org? Were you ever in the Sea Org or OSA? Which unit? If not on staff, did you ever volunteer to 'help out'?
N/A

7. Why did you leave the Church of Scientology? Was there a "final straw"?
The 'tech' is not really as great as hyped, it is just another way of achieving something. Unfortunately, it is mostly plagiarised off other philosophers and 'religions'. Scientology is not a true religion-it does come close though to Prosperity Theology. Money really does make the world go round in Scientology.

8. Do you think the Church of Scientology needs to change some of its practices? If so, what should be changed? How did those practices affect your life?
It needs to 'knock off' the human rights violations which are numerous eg. the right to choose the association one belongs to.There are only a few rights permitted in Scientology. Road to Freedom, my ass! I have only a little to thank them for but it is hugely overshadowed by the negative aspects. The devastation from my involvement with them is enormous-psychologically,family-wise, financially and as far as life progress.

9. If the items you listed in the previous question were changed, would you consider rejoining or staying in the Church of Scientology? If so, why?
No, it is a criminal organization, committing crimes and/or hardships upon those who originally thought it was a good thing.

10. Any additional comments you would like to make?
I know people who have died in the hands of the Church. The information is always suppressed though. The people left behind have to grieve silently and bite their lip. Appearances are of senior importance. Truth is bad for business. IT IS ALL A CON WITH AN ENORMOUS SERVE OF PLAGIARISM.
