1. How did you first become acquainted with the Church of Scientology?
handed a copy of 'the Auditor' magazine

2. What initially appealed to you about scientology?
seemed like another interesting 'scientific' theory.
& in competition with a friend (unspoken) to find the best religion

3. Were there problems in your life that you thought scientology would address?
low self esteem, shy with the opposite sex.
I never really wanted to be clear nor an auditor. To me LRH on an audio tape was just another scientist, rather than God.

4. Did you see, experience, or hear about things that didn't seem right while you were in the Church of Scientology? What were they, and what convinced you to set aside your feelings?
many many little things that were strange & 'should have' alerted me to get the ### out of there.....
My success story mentioned 'yoga' and was not posted on the bulliten board. A registrar got a phone call from the next room, 'Don't talk about money; talk about services.' One question on the e-meter was , 'How could you harm LRH or MSH?' When my father was at the church he called me stupid and (feeling like an innocent infant) I began to crawl on the floor. Next i went to get my coat in the next room- A tape recorder was running....
Pressure to sign up for an intensive of auditing for $800. By thumb tacking my name with $800 high up on the wall...Then they called my savings bank to stay open after 3 P.M...Another time given a ride home and the guy yelled 'where is your (savings) BANK?' I bailed out of the car because of this hard sell. ..They seemed angry/ jaw dropped when i said i majored in Psychology.. When my mother showed up unannounced with a Sandwich, they said very suspiciously, 'Who's that!!'.. When i filled out staff questionaire, since all writing was in the physical world, i answered 'no' to every question.. They asked do you have a car? (no) because that was my example as a definition of control..I had asked does a high percentage continue on from HAS to HQS (yes), which was a lie.

5. Why did you choose to stay in the Church of Scientology?
social pressure- did not take no for an answer & hard sell techniques

6. Were you staff or public? If staff, was it at a mission or an org? Were you ever in the Sea Org or OSA? Which unit? If not on staff, did you ever volunteer to 'help out'?
short time on staff- never paid anything as I left altogether soon after.

7. Why did you leave the Church of Scientology? Was there a "final straw"?
Sort of.-- My father showed up unannounced, threatened to call his lawyer. He wanted a refund of $800. They told him Mr. Smith 'look at that wall'. Since i'm damned if i do and damned if i don't. Someone does not like the cult you cannot be audited.
I said i'm afraid of my father. Sign here- no longer elligible for services unless pay $1000.- Does your words affect the palm of your hand at all.
Also, went my father & I went to the 'better business bureau' i got an impression that the church had a plant working there.

8. Do you think the Church of Scientology needs to change some of its practices? If so, what should be changed? How did those practices affect your life?
I somewhat believed in a reactive mind.Temporarily. A criminal bunch of liars.Only care about money. They just say they care about people in order to recruit.

9. If the items you listed in the previous question were changed, would you consider rejoining or staying in the Church of Scientology? If so, why?
None of these cults deserve to exist.

10. Any additional comments you would like to make?
Just that, thank you for this oppurtunity. They really suck, man. The internet is the real way for Communications to be spread far and wide.
