1. How did you first become acquainted with the Church of Scientology?
born to parents who were on staff at the los angeles org

2. What initially appealed to you about scientology?
parents were involved

3. Were there problems in your life that you thought scientology would address?
scientology was supposed to clear the planet and help all mankind. Release us all from the dwindling spiral here on earth.

4. Did you see, experience, or hear about things that didn't seem right while you were in the Church of Scientology? What were they, and what convinced you to set aside your feelings?
too much to ever write it all here. In process of writing a book about my life and childhood in the church.

5. Why did you choose to stay in the Church of Scientology?
family - parents

6. Were you staff or public? If staff, was it at a mission or an org? Were you ever in the Sea Org or OSA? Which unit? If not on staff, did you ever volunteer to 'help out'?
All of the above at various times.

7. Why did you leave the Church of Scientology? Was there a "final straw"?
Yes, there were many things that happened to me and which I witnessed to others. The final reason, I came out as a lesbian at the age of 16 1/2 and the church leaders in my area would not accept this. I was ridiculed and harrassed and forced to undergo auditing to process all of my overts/witholds and clear up my confusion about my sexuality. When I refused some of the required treatments, I was held in a room and interogated for over 6 hours. I re-established a friendship with a former school-mate and moved across country to pennsylvania leaving no forwarding address at the age of 17 1/2.

8. Do you think the Church of Scientology needs to change some of its practices? If so, what should be changed? How did those practices affect your life?
yeah

9. If the items you listed in the previous question were changed, would you consider rejoining or staying in the Church of Scientology? If so, why?
no

10. Any additional comments you would like to make?
no
